Fairmont Royal York - 2019 Honey Harvest

In this video, we discuss our 14th-floor rooftop apiary that is home to over 350,000 honey bees and how we first established the rooftop apiary in 2008. The Fairmont Royal York was the first hotel in the world to do so and it stemmed from our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Since first launching in 2008, the bees have thrived and this year, our hotel harvested 450 pounds of honey that will be used in the products we serve throughout the hotel.

We encourage everyone to do their part to be more sustainable so we can continue to save the honey bees and as a result, build a better future.
